It's SoulFill Sunday. WOW.. It is so amazing to fill our souls with God's word. When praying about what to post today,
God brought me to this amazing truth in 1 Samuel 17: 45-47
We are all familiar with the story of David and Goliath...
Let's read this thinking of the Corona Virus as our Goliath and Davids response.
David shouted in reply, "You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord Almighty--the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. Today the Lord will conquer you, and I will kill you and cut off your ear. And everyone will know that the Lord does not need weapons to rescue his people. It is HIS BATTLE, not ours. The Lord will give you to us!
What an amazing difference perspective can make. Most of the onlookers saw only a giant. David, however, saw a mortal man defying almighty God. He knew he would not be alone when he faced Goliath: God would fight with him.
When looking at impossible situations from God's point of view helps us to put giant problems in perspective. Once we see clearly, we can fight more effectively. Criticism couldn't stop David. David knew the importance of taking action.. With God to fight for him, there was no reason to wait.
David had FAITH OVER FEAR. WE HAVE GOD'S WORD THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH.
FAITH: FORSAKING ALL I TRUST HIM
FEAR: FALSE EVIDENCE APPEARING REAL
The Israelite’s were smaller than their fears, but David was bigger than his fears because he knew that the God inside of him is greater than anything he faced. Remember David was facing a giant... look at this image!!!
If you are worrying today because of the virus that the world is facing, turn that worry into worship. Let your faith be bigger than your fear. Turn that panic into prayer. Trust that God is doing something right now. We may not feel it but He never stops working. And we know for sure that God is bigger than the COVID-19 and anything that we worried about.
Here are just a few scriptures of truth from God's word that we can cling too!!
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Tim 1:7
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
No weapon formed against you will prosper. Isaiah 54:17
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6-7
When we focus on what we are afraid of our fear gets larger and larger. When we focus on our God, the sovereign creator of the universe, He will strengthen us, uphold us and help us. Because I love you I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.. it doesn't matter what you are facing...!!! I will strengthen you, I am almighty God!!!
God's word doesn't change. He made this promise for us!!
He wants us to be David's when it comes to facing fear. He has given us His personal promise my friends!! Can we walk in Faith over Fear... YES!!!!!
The opposite of anxiety is faith. In faith we can make our focus on Him & go through life on earth and make all of our decisions confidently because God will guide us in every single detail. Faith is complete, blind obedience. This is a faith battle!!
Faith is that you do what God tells you before knowing what the result will be. Faith isn’t that you understand everything – faith is doing it anyway because you trust in God’s perfect care and guidance!
Read God’s Word, pray to Him, lay our concerns to Him and whatever we are facing, our sovereign God will hold us safely and bring us through this no matter what!!!... We can do His will even if we don’t understand every tiny detail. This is how we can seek God’s kingdom first and walk by faith over fear.
