Dear Precious Friends,
As we go about this beautiful new day and give our day to the Lord and His purposes asking that the Holy Spirit lead us, I needed to seek God's truth and His word as a firm foundation of what we are to do in such a time as this. I know I needed to be reminded of these scriptures and truths.
Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
I thought with the unease that so many are feeling with the election and everything that is going on in our country right now that these verses would be a good reminder for us all. Paul is great at using all inclusive words; anything, every situations. That means even now with all that is going on we can trust in God and find peace through Him.
Colossians 3:14-15 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts.
For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.
Our country could use a lot of love right now. Christians need to stand up and stand out and love one another. We need to quit letting hate and difference of opinions rule our hearts instead of Jesus. It is time we have a heart of gratitude and think about how blessed we are.
2 Timothy 2:1 Timothy, my dear son, be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus.
Paul is telling Timothy, and us, not to find our strength in ourselves. Our strength should come from God. Grace is the power to our salvation and the power to live a Godly life each and every day.
Ephesians 5:15-17 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.
Four things we all need to do in our life but I must admit I am not always good at. First make wise decisions. Second take advantage of the opportunities you are given to share Jesus with others, I wish I would do that more. Third is to not be a fool, sadly at times I make foolish mistakes. Lastly understand the Lords will for you. The best way to do this is to spend time in His word and in Prayer. How are you doing in each of these areas and what can you do to improve in them?
2 Timothy 2:1 Timothy, my dear son, be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus.
Paul is telling Timothy, and us, not to find our strength in ourselves. Our strength should come from God. Grace is the power to our salvation and the power to live a Godly life each and every day.
We can truly be strong through the grace that God gives us through Jesus.
Romans 13:1 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
We will soon be finding out who our President will be for the next four years. If it is your candidate or not they will be our President and we should be supportive of them and be lifting them up in prayer. More importantly I know my Savior is in control for eternity!
Now can I have an AMEN!!
