Dear Precious Friends,
On this beautiful new day, this gift from God, I pray you are embracing this day knowing God is with you, He loves you so much and wants our time with Him to be our priority. As we spend time with Him, take in His word, filling our spirit with His truth, we are reminded of how we have perfect peace from fixing our eyes on Him.
You see my friends, as Christians, we know, there is a war for our mind so what are we to do? We must center our mind on His truth.
Our weapons are mighty and we do not fight these forces with our hands or mind but in prayer, fasting, and the Word of God. The power comes from God, not us. They are capable of taking on anything that Satan throws at us. They can pull down his strongholds that are controlling our world. We must go to battle and stop wearing ourselves out by worrying. How do we do this? We can overcome this, and it doesn’t require an ounce of our strength. They are the Word of God and prayer. When we fill our hearts and minds with Scripture, it raises our defenses. When we pray, it unleashes the power of heaven on the rulers of darkness. Evil is overcome this way! This battle for our mind is not waged externally. Our weapons in this battle are not physical or tangible. Our weapons are the weapons of right believing, and they are mighty in God for pulling down strongholds that have kept us bound. These are strongholds that can only be utterly torn down by rightly believing in the truth of God’s Word.
The devil can only sow wrong thoughts in our mind, but he cannot control what we believe! When we start to know God's truth and claim it, every lie and wrong thought will melt away and be gone in the might name of Jesus. Lies can imprison and defeat us only to the degree that we don’t allow God’s truth to come into our situation to liberate us. Listen closely to what Jesus said: “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:31–32). What this means is that whatever stronghold you are trapped in today, truth from Jesus will set you free!
Strongholds are wrong thoughts and lies that have been perpetuated in your mind over weeks, months, or even years. These entrenched wrong beliefs cause us to live in bondage to addictions and in a state of fear, guilt, anxiety, or chronic depression.
God’s Word tells us in no uncertain terms that the warfare takes place in our minds and is won by us “pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God” (2 Cor. 10:4–5). The place where the enemy launches his attacks against us is in our thoughts and imagination. Once we are aware that there is a war for our mind, and that it is between wrong beliefs and right beliefs, we have already won half the battle! We must Keep hearing, keep believing, and keep renewing our mind with the truth of God’s grace and love for us. And whatever stronghold we may be trapped in today, the truth from His Word will set us free!
My friends, our victory is in the Lord... We must not go long without prayer. We are to pray like we take in oxygen. It is our lifeline. As we claim these truths, let's pray them over our lives and live the freedom in Christ fully available to us.
