As we walk into a new day let’s be
Filled with Gods word and His truth.
These are unsettling times to say the least...
Where do we turn when we storms arrive and threaten us?
Matthew 4:35-41 is such a great example of what we are walking through today...
Jesus and the disciples were out on the Sea of Galilee when they get caught in a storm. He's sleeping like a baby and they're all freaked out. Instead of looking to Jesus about how they should react, they look at the storm and panic. In their panic they wake Him up and ask Him to do something, which He then calms the storm, but not before asking them why they are afraid. "His gentle rebuke over their lack of faith wasn’t because they didn’t believe Jesus could save them from the storm, but because they struggled to believe He would see them through it."
How many times are we caught in one of life's many storms and we become anxious, even to the point of outright panic? As children of God, we must know that wherever we are, Jesus is right there with us - He will see us through our situation. Take a step in faith and step back. Give Him a chance to do things His way. It may not seem to be the way we would have thought it should be, but that's the point. It takes faith to hand over to Him our life, our plans, our dreams, our desires, our circumstances, our family, our finances, our purpose . . . Are we willing to risk failure to see His Glory? He will lead us through. He promises.
It takes incredible trust to relinquish our fear to the one who calms the storm and crisis in our lives.
Let’s walk this out today knowing the same God who calmed the storm the disciples were in is the same God we cry out to and confess our need instead of panicking. We know He will care of each of us and calm the storms of life as we trust in Him.
