Abide In My Word

Dear Precious Friends,
I pray you are waking up to a new day, embracing the gift the Lord has given us and beginning the day with Him. We are at the start of a New Year and if you are in this group, we are committed to growing in our walk with Him.
To know Him is to know His word. The Bible is the inspired word of God through the Holy Spirit. It is one book with 66 different God breathed books. B.I.B.L.E.: Basic instructions before leaving earth. Everything starts with knowing His word in our absolute truth.
John 1:1 reminds us: "In the beginning the Word already existed. He was with God, and he was God. He was in the beginning with God. He created everything there is. Nothing exists that He didn't make. Life itself was in Him, and this life gives light to everyone. The light shines through the darkness and the darkness can never extinguish it."
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
Jesus reminds us to Abide in Him. This is the reminder we are to stay, remain, dwell. To experience true transformation we must be in His word, remain in Him.
Psalm 1:3 promises that if you meditate on Scripture you will be “like a tree planted by streams of water that yields fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither.” Scripture has the power to securely ground us in the steadfast love of your heavenly Father. Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” To be rooted in God's word means we are unshakeable.
How do we remain in is word? It's the first thing we do upon waking. Fill our minds with His truth. We are to be purposeful in our time with Him. We pray and walk with Him all day. We pick a verse each day and meditate on it and ask Him to show us His truth.
We must allow Scripture to be an avenue by which we daily meet with God.
Our Pastor asked a great question yesterday. He said "are you a dipper in the word of God and as a Christian? " Do you drop in and out of life in His word and walking with Him when convenient and same with our lives and commitment with Him?
May we be fully committed to Him and His purposes. It's the only we we are transformed and renewed.
It's how we experience His truth and how we are set free. The Bible app is a great way to be connected to Him in addition to being in our own Bibles. The You Version has daily devo's, reading plans and is an incredible resource for us.
May we all commit to being in His word first... Our own Bibles and stay committed to the Author and perfecter of our Faith. May we commit to knowing Him, walking with Him and Abiding with Him every day.
Amen!
May be an image of 1 person, outdoors and text that says 'Jesus said.. "If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:31-32 ESV)'
