Dear Precious Friends,
On this Fill our Soul Sunday, I pray you are starting your day with the Lord, Seeking Him First.
It begins upon waking, knowing He is our top priority and our purpose for life. Seeking Him First and filling our soul with His word & spending time in His presence is the greatest gift we give ourselves.
Psalm 16:11 says, “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” And Psalm 84:1-2 says, “How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God.”
These Psalms of David shared by David remind us that David's heart was glad... he had found the secret to joy. Joy is deeper than happiness... we can feel joy in spite of our deepest roubles. Happiness is temporary because it is based on "What "happens to us ", but joy is lasting because it is based on God's presence within us. As we contemplate His daily presence, we will find contentment. when we understand the future God has for us, we experience joy. May we not base our life on circumstances but on God.
We seek many things in life that we think will give us joy and enjoyment, but we often fail to seek the one thing that brings fullness of joy. Fullness of joy... I love those words.
If we seek God first as our vital need, His presence will enable us to enjoy other things, but without Him, we will always be lacking in some way.
When we Include the Lord in all that we do and speak with Him throughout the day, we know His great love. The fact is: God is everything and we are nothing without Him. He is our joy!
I can say without a doubt, knowing how much God loves us and being consistent in spending time with Him gives us a revelation of single most transformative part of our lives. The days I don’t start with the best thing, being in his presence, are my worst days by far. His presence ignites me with passion, love, purpose, and a sense of belonging that nothing else can give.
Father, help me to seek You first as my vital need in life, and I will experience fullness of joy!
