Dear Precious Friends,
On this beautiful new day I pray we are waking up thanking Him for this day, spending time with Him, knowing He has a purpose for our lives and knowing where we go to be filled. His word is our absolute truth and where we receive life.
Our top priority is to spend time with Him. God wants to lift the "weight" of our cares and burdens from us, but He requires our cooperation. We must go to Him and tell Him exactly how we're feeling, and we must ask for His help. We must surrender our burdens to Him, along with our very selves. He longs for us to say: "Lord, I can't handle these things alone, so I'm giving them to You, and I'm willing to do things Your way from now on." David ends Psalm 55 with a simple, but profound, statement: "I will trust in You." (Psalm 55:23) The only place to run is into the arms of Jesus. We are never going to truly commit ourselves and our concerns to the Lord if we don't trust Him with all of them.
“Oh, that I had wings like a dove, for then I would fly away and rest! Psalm 55:6
David wanted to run away from the dire circumstances that caused such deep despair. He wanted to flee far from the person who had caused him such anguish of heart. He wanted the horrors of life that surrounded him, at that time, to be removed far away... but David had to learn that you can't run away from the circumstances of life, you can't escape from those that would do you harm, you can't live in this world and be free from trials and tribulations, you can't fly away to a deserted place and be at rest, for we live in a fallen world. I can certainly identify with David. Maybe what weighs us down is the burdens of life. Maybe we want to desperately escape our life and our circumstances, and to "fly away and be at rest," far from everything and everyone.. If we are facing some of these feelings just search the Word of God for answers within the verses of this Spirit-inspired psalm. "Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall." (Psalm 55:22)
May God bless you on this beautiful day as you trust in Him.
AMEN!
