Dear Precious Friends,
On this Thankful Thursday, let's remember who we are and whose we are... we are warriors not worriers. It's time to armor up... The battle we are in is fierce, and we are not fearful, we are faithful. Let's remember how we fight our battles and rise up to the occasion. This is how wee fight our battles.
The Armor of God
Ephesians 6:10-11
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
The armor of God, found in Ephesians 6:10-18, is made up of the following six items:
14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Although prayer is not one of the pieces of the whole armor of God, yet Paul closes his list by saying, “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit” (Ephesians 6:18). Even when you are clothed with the armor of God, you need to bathe it all in prayer. Prayer brings you into communion and fellowship with God so that His armor can protect you.
WOW my friends... This visual is so inspiring... I know the discouragement and concern we are in right now. I hear it from you each day and experience it, fight it and know what we have to do!!! We have to be in God's word, worship and walk in the Spirit and truth He gives us!!
It isn’t as difficult as you might think. All the pieces of the armor are found in a relationship with Jesus. Paul said it like this: “Put on the Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 13:14). When you give yourself to Jesus and “put on” His righteousness, you are clothed in the whole armor of God.
When we are weak, He is strong... when we are discouraged, He is our encourager... We all face these moments. But clothed in the whole armor God, the weakest of us is more than a match for Satan.
In Jesus, clothed in God’s invincible armor, you will “be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” You will “be able to stand against the wiles of the devil” (Ephesians 6:10, 11).
ARMOR UP my friends. Lets make this day count for the kingdom and dismiss all of satan's assignments!
LET'S DO THIS!!!
