Dear Precious Friends
I am so grateful for a new day, a gift
He has given us an amazing gift....
the truth in His word. His promises for us to focus on instead of our problems.
He carries us through the most difficult of times.
2 Cor 1:3-5 reminds us:
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.”
Paul is praising God for the circumstances of his life even though there are afflictions. He calls God the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort. He sees God's hand as having sent these things into his life; therefore, he doesn't pray to have them removed so that he might escape from them. He sees them as opportunities for the release of the strength of God.
OH WOW. That is powerful... when life's difficulties come, to pray for the release of God's strength in the midst of our difficulties and immediately going there.
That is taking our thoughts captive to Christ immediately... That is knowing when we are weak we are strong... That is knowing the power of the Lord to carry us. Our God is the God of all comfort.... this means we receive His strength, encouragement and hope to deal with our troubles... The more we suffer, the more comfort God gives us! With every trial we endure, one day we will be able to help comfort others who are suffering with similar problems.
Others listen and pay attention when we've walked through difficulties and trusted the Lord throughout. He gives us His strength, encouragement and hope to deal with our most difficult of circumstances. Remembering that every trial we endure, we will be able to help comfort others who are suffering similar troubles....
As we turn our powerlessness without Him into our constant need for Him, we experience our source of power in our weakness because we have nothing left but Him.
And my friends, with Him we have all we need.
Amen!!!
