Dear Precious Friends,
On this amazing new day, this gift from God and the weekend we celebrate our Father's... Many of us are celebrating Fathers Day with a big hole in our hearts, as our Dad's are no longer with us. Also, many have not had the best relationship with their Dad and that makes my heart break because often our understanding of who God is, is tainted by what we experienced with our earthly father.
If you still have your Dad and you celebrate with him, don't take a moment for granted.... They are silent heroes who did their best in bringing us up.
Gods love for us is to great, we can't even fathom it in our humanness. He shows His love in so many ways, but nothing is greater than Him sending Jesus to die for us so we could have the greatest gift of everlasting life as long as we receive that gift in our hearts, we are born again and live our new life as completely new in Him.
I am sharing something that Max Lucado brings our great attention to. Our ABBA FATHER, God Himself gives us amazing gifts that we may miss every single day and I'm asking all of us to slow down and open our hearts to His amazing creation and think of the great love God has for us and how He reveals Himself each and every day through His word, through time with Him, and especially through His creation. Did you know if earth was ten feet closer to the sun earth would burn up and if we were ten feet further away from the sun we would freeze to death?
The evidence of God and His love for us is so incredibly obvious I am asking each of us spend each day asking the following question: How did I see God today?
Genesis 1 describes for us not only the fact of an ordered creation by God, but also God’s response to his creation. Five times, you recall, God stands back, as it were, and takes stock of his creation. Each time the text says, “And God saw that it was good” (verses 4, 12, 18, 21, 25). And when all was finished and man and woman were created in his own image, it says, “And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good.”
I take this to mean that God was delighted with His work. When he looked at it, it gave him pleasure. He was pleased and happy with His creative effort. There is no force more powerful than the love our heavenly Father has for us, His children. His love can move mountains, stop the roaring seas, heal broken bones and wounded hearts, transform lives, and set free those held captive by sin and shame. So great is His love for you and me that he sent his only Son to die that we might live through Him. And in John 17:25-26, Jesus makes an unfathomable statement about how great the depth of God’s love is for us:
O righteous Father, even though the world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me. I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.
Before creation the Father and the Son rejoiced in each other with overflowing satisfaction. And when the time came for creation, the Bible says that both the Father and the Son were active in the work of creation (1 Corinthians 8:6; Colossians 1:16).
In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. All things were made through him and without him was not anything made that was made. (John 1:3)
God's creation was the work of He and Jesus together. I often ponder them creating amazing things like caterpillars that turn into cocoons, (chrysalis) that turn into butterflies, of a blow fish, or a humming bird, a bumble bee that should not be able to fly but it does.. or the giraffe, the elephant, the ant, and mosquito and how everything works together. I am in awe of His creation and ask that we all put our phones down and our heads up to see this gift that reveals their love each and every day... . I can only imagine their creative work and how everything came to be... it was the work of both of them together.
And so when the Bible teaches that creation expresses the glory of God, we mustn’t think merely of the glory of the Father or the glory of the Son, but rather the glory that they have together. And the glory that they have together is that overflowing mutual joy in each other’s perfections. So creation is an expression of the overflow of that life and joy that the Father and the Son have in each other.
Do you know that God loves us the way He loves Jesus? His heart is full of affection for us. On this Father's Day I pray you stop and ponder the greatest gift from our Abba Father in Jesus Christ and take time to adore Him and remember this great love through His creation and sending Jesus to die so we could live with Him forever Please make sure you have accepted this gift. Please message me if you have any questions.
