Dear Precious Friends,
As we welcome this new day, thanking God for another day to honor and glorify Him knowing He woke us up because He still has work for us to do, we are reminded of truth to turn to when we need lifting up. Where do we go for this truth? God's word of course!
The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.” Lamentations 3:25
This message is for those who are down; for those children of God driven down by despair, loneliness, grief, pain, suffering. What a great reminder of truth when we turn to God's word and walk with Jeremiah remembering what he was going through when he wrote this verse. This is very relatable in regard to current events.
.
The Prophet Jeremiah had just witnessed the most devastating destruction to the Temple of God, and his homeland. There was great mourning in the land because of their deportation to Babylon. However, Jeremiah offers a word of exhortation and encouragement to the readers of his prophecy by getting them to see that their only hope was to wait on the LORD and to seek Him while enduring the devastation. Jeremiah expressed to them that the LORD is good regardless of the situation. Jeremiah declares that even in the midst of the ruin, the LORD extends His benefit to those who wait for Him, that is trust in Him. In his very darkest hour, Jeremiah discovered a glorious truth that brought new hope and assurance to his mind. It was something he already knew about God, but it didn't touch his soul until he came to the end of himself. He discovered that at the very bottom - there was God!
What a great reminder dear friends that there are times we must come to grips with the fact that when we are in a situation where there is nothing we can do to get out of, it is best that we wait patiently for the LORD to aid and strengthen us. The LORD uses the difficult situations that come into our lives to cause us to refocus and to redirect our attention to Him in seeking His guidance. It is always better to seek the Lord because He is our only hope. He is able to help us to endure those times of great despair. Those who wait patiently, who hope fervently, in the LORD will find what their soul most needs! And remember “The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him” Lamentations 3:25.
AMEN!
