Dear Precious Friends,
It's Fill Our Soul Sunday and I love this image and reminder from Colossians 2:7 of being deeply rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught and overflowing with thankfulness.
Our world is so unstable and troubled (John 16:33) yet we stand firm in our faith knowing the battle is the Lords... we've certainly had a 1-2 punch from the Covid to the violence & racial injustice in our streets.
It's amazing how our thoughts can take us down a slippery slope of anxiety, worry and fear... so what are we to do?
Open our bibles, go to God's word so we can have these strong roots and nourish them, pray... Open verses that promise peace.. Psalm 23 ... so rich... listen to an amazing worship song, surrender our fears and our anxieties...
Tell the Devil where to go and ask him to depart...
The Holy Spirit will soothe us, calm us and we can turn to Him... He is there for us... The only color we should see in our world is red... and that is the blood of Jesus poured over us so we can share the love God has given each of us who are ALL CREATED IN HIS IMAGE, WE ARE ALL FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE.
God's word says: in John: 23-24 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
His word reminds us to love one another as He has loved us and Love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and mind and love our neighbor as ourselves.
Let's go out and share this love with all we are and all we have. Repentance is a great start when we have not followed God's ways and God's word! Being rooted in God's word.. the voice of truth so the storms of life help us stand strong like this tree in the image below.... so we can withstand the storms of life to display God's amazing strength & love in our troubled world!!!
