Dear Precious Friends,
I pray you are waking to a new day thanking God for this day and all the kingdom work He is planning for us. This image stopped me in my tracks and I felt I had to share. I always share what I need to hear. How often are we focused on the past instead of where God is leading us?
Look Back to Thank God; Look Forward to Trust God
Instead of looking back with regret or wishing things were as they once were, we are to look forward with trust to God. And I listen for God’s direction to focus on one thing.
Instead of looking back with regret or wishing things were as they once were? We look back with thanks to God and look forward with trust to God.
Scripture tells us we to look back to thank God; look forward to trust God....
Do not [earnestly] remember the former things; neither consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert..." - Isaiah 43:18-19 (AMPC)
God does not want us to be backward looking, going through life looking in the rear vision mirror. But we so often can't help ourselves. We remember the hurts of the past and the mistakes we made.
It's time now to look ahead and focus on what's before us. God wants to do a new thing in our lives. He wants us to rise up to our full potential in Him. He has called us to do mighty things. He will even make a way when we feel lost, and refresh us when we're burning in the heat.
We have got to keep on moving forward. It's only in moving forward that we can ever accomplish what God has called us to. We can't stay where we're at, nor can we go backwards. The only direction we can go is forward. Yes, it can be hard—but it's the only way if we want to move on in God and grow.
SO my friends, what mighty things is He calling us to do for Him. Only one life twill soon be past, only whats done for Christ will last.
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Phil 3:14
AMEN!
