Psalm 119:10-11 reminds us "With my whole heart I seek you Lord, Don't let me wander from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might now sin against you.
WOW... there it is... how to walk in His ways... Seek Him First, write His word on our hearts... to know Him is to know His word.
Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my sighing. Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray. In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation. Psalm 5:1-3
God’s word says his mercies are new every morning, and what better time to come to him than in the moment of fresh mercy? Like a beautiful Spring morning when we can breath deeper, God is waiting for us to breathe Him in. What a difference it is to come to God, fresh in the morning, to prepare ourselves for the day ahead. In this world today... we need to armor up like a soldier going into battle.
I noticed something else in this passage this morning and I think it is worth mentioning. David wrote that he laid his requests before God and waited in expectation. Our prayers must be laid at the throne with EXPECTANT HEARTS & THE REALIZATION He answers every single one in His time, In His way... The creator of the Universe, The one who loves us so much, who came and paid the price for our sins, answers every single prayer and we like children opening our Christmas gifts can wait with expectant hearts for every answer.
We fill our mind with His word and allow Scripture to stir up our desire to seek him with all our heart.
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” Psalm 46:10
“You have said, ‘Seek my face.’ My heart says to you, ‘Your face, Lord, do I seek.'” Psalm 27:8
May we ask him to help guide our heart through our day toward this pursuit. Ask him to give us a check in our heart when something takes His place as the greatest desire in our life. Live today with Him as our highest priority.
