Being Planted

Dear Precious Friends,
On the beautiful crisp morning, I pray you are feeling energized by the cool air and reminder that God's mercies are new each day. I love this reminder that in the difficult seasons of life we walk through, we may feel like we are being buried, when God's truth reminds us His mercies are new each day and when we walk through the fire we are not consumed... Great is His faithfulness....When we walk through the most difficult times, we draw closest to Him. He is growing us as we have no choice but to claim HIs promises over our life and remember all the ways He has been faithful to us.
One of the great enemies of our hope is forgetting God’s promises. We must remind ourselves regularly of His goodness. And on difficult days or in seasons of grief, sometimes that looks like focusing on reminding ourselves moment by moment how good God is.
When everything is changing, He is steady. The Bible tells us in Hebrews verse 13:8 – Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today and forever. That is an amazing comfort.
How are we reminding ourselves today of the promises of God? I pray you have time with the Lord in His word filling your soul with His truth. I heard this quote that a Christian without prayer is a powerless Christian. As we pray and thank God for His goodness and spend time in His word, we are transformed and renewed. When we spend time with Him we are reminded of His great love for us.
Lamentations verses 3:21-22 says this: “But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases.”
If we don’t remind ourselves of the greatness and grace and power and love of God, we will sink into insufferable pessimism. Don’t allow in your life the godless messages that start with “I can’t. . .” “She won’t. . .” “They never. . . “ “It has never worked. . .”
The great turn from despair to hope in Psalm 77 comes with these words: “I will remember the deeds of the Lord – yes, I will remember your wonders. . .” Today, remember God’s goodness and set in place ways to make a habit of reminding yourself that He is good.
As Paul wrote in Ephesians 4:22-24, “Put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.” We are to Clothe ourselves every day in the knowledge of who we are in Christ. Choose to live in freedom instead of sin. When you feel the tug back to your former ways, take a minute and ask the Spirit to guide you away from your former life. God’s promised us His freedom. He’s worked His miracle of freedom in you at salvation. We have been made new. Now live in response to God’s incredible work by pursuing a life lived in righteousness. Spend time in God’s presence allowing his truth and love to mold and shape you into the likeness of the very one who’s saved you.I am a New Creature predestined for greatness.
(2 Corinthians 5:17)
