Dear Precious Friends,
I love these truths from God's word, our absolute truth.
The Apostle Paul is one of our great examples of persistent and watchful prayer. Even though he was extremely busy, he prioritized the urgent call to watchful and persevering prayer for the churches. He believed in the power of God to answer prayer even in the most difficult situations. Look at his example. He prayed continually, watchfully, and unceasingly night and day for the churches and Gods people. Paul did not give up.
"God… is my witness how constantly I remember you in my prayers at all times" (Romans 1:9).
"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer" (Romans 12:12).
"I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers" (Ephesians 1:16).
"I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for you, I always pray with joy…"(Philippians 1:3-4).
"Praying always for you" (Colossians 1:3, NASB).
"For this reason since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you" (Colossians 1:9).
"Night and day we pray most earnestly" (1 Thessalonians 3:10).
"With this in mind, we constantly pray for you"(2 Thessalonians 1:11).
I thank God… as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers (2 Timothy 1:3).
God is inviting us to enter into urgent watchfulness in prayer. His heart is that we would be watchful in our prayers. The Holy Spirit is the only one who can arrest our attention and shut down our busyness so that we can hear His urgent call for fervent prayer. Nobody can touch our hearts with a burning vision and a determination to see God’s Kingdom come on earth unless it is born by the Holy Spirit.
His example is our model for what we are to do for such a time as this. As we start our day in His word, and walk through our day asking the Holy Spirit to lead us... Let us remember to walk each hour with Him and remember how urgent it is that we all pray fervently for our country, our world, our families, our churches and especially for each other.
AMEN!
