Who Do You Serve?

Dear Precious Friends,
On this beautiful new day I pray you are waking up to a new day, taking in the word of truth, armored up and ready for this new day. Everyday we wake up we need to decide who we are going to serve. As we can't serve two masters.(Matthew 6:24) Remember A master is anything that enslaves us (Romans 6:16). Or is in opposition to God.I love this reminder and wanted to share.
Joshua was a great leader, not only by giving good admonition but by his example. He told the people of Israel that, if they were not going to serve the Lord, it really didn’t matter which false god they chose because one was just as bad as the other. But his public declaration was this: my decision is made, my mind is set, my house will serve the Lord. This was a commitment that he lived. Yes It’s not always easy to walk by faith and go down the path God has planned for your life. We all have probably been there where we have struggled with the path that God has placed before us. Where we are wanting to change it, make it better, get rid of all the imperfections, and when times get rough we look earnestly for another way, or an easier path. But in our search we can’t find anything. We are blinded to what else we can choose, or where the path might lead. Or if we try to see too far down the path our focus gets distorted and we begin to question everything the Lord has for us. We question the path, the future, the plans. We long for something different. We long for the future.
But today and everyday we need to realize that there is really nothing else out there. Not anything we would rather have. Sure this path isn’t easy, and we’re often met with discouragement and our own insecurities, but we really do not want anything else. Everything else means we will need to turn our back on whatever it is God has planned for us. It’s our choice. Whether we go left or right, we may hear His voice directing and leading us, but it is our CHOICE to go in that direction. Everyday we wake up we need to decide who we are going to serve. As we can't serve two masters.(Matthew 6:24) Remember A master is anything that enslaves us (Romans 6:16). Or is in opposition to God. Will we serve our own wants and desires, or are we going to serve the Lord…It’s only a choice we can make for ourselves, nobody else can make that choice for us. Especially as the time is getting short before Jesus' return(of course only the Father knows the day and time Matthew 24:6). So everyday we need to choose God, faith, and to move forward. Only because we know that this is where God wants us RIGHT NOW.
AMEN!
