Dear Precious Friends,
As we begin a new day, we thank God for such a gift and ask Him to remind us to number our days and to fill our hearts with wisdom. The best way to do this and what an amazing reminder as we begin this new day.
"Listen to my voice in the morning Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly." Psalm 5:3
Notice in this verse what David did. He set the tone for His whole day by spending time with the Lord every morning and made his requests known to Him.. David realized that each morning held the promise of new hope. David's plea to the Lord was a daily act of faith. He then waited on God and expected Him to listen to his prayers and answer them. We often tell God what we want and expect Him to respond immediately, like now! We don't wait patiently on Him. Other times we pray to God and don't even expect Him to hear or answer our prayer. Then we get discouraged and stop asking altogether. We lose our faith in God. Both extremes are wrong. We are to ask God to meet our needs and wait expectantly as David did.
Let's be encouraged this morning just like David to make spending time with God a priority in our life, will see Him move mightily on our behalf. Let God fill us fresh and new every morning. When we run on empty .. it is no way to live. So let us make it a habit to seek the Lord first every single day. No matter what is happening in our lives if in the valley or the mountaintop, seek Him in the morning. Let Him set the tone for our day and set us on the course for victory in every area of our life!
Father God, we humbly come before You first and foremost and ask You to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness. So Lord, I lift up to You everyone reading this and I ask that You be with them in a special way as some of them find themselves in a difficult season where they can't seem to find any hope. Lord I ask You to give them hope and assurance that You are there with them now guiding them in every step they take. Help us to surrender to You now all our heaviness, all our needs, and fill us with hope as we embrace this new day.
