Dear Precious Friends,
On this beautiful Holy Thursday, we are reminded of the obedience of what Jesus did for us even though pleading with the Father, "Not my will but yours be done". Jesus and the disciples went to the Garden of Gethsemane. He takes Peter, James, and John aside and tells them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.” Mt 26:38.
Jesus prays in agony three times. Luke’s version says that as Jesus is praying, “an angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.” (22:42.) What a precious scene to take in. Could the angels not stand the thought of Jesus being in anguish all alone?
Judas betrays Jesus and Jesus is arrested. He gives himself up willingly. He models submission to his Father’s plan. His submission was not weakness, but strength.
His disciples deserted him and ran away.
Jesus did this all for you and me.
He sweat tears of blood.
He did this all for you and me.
He bled for us, the nails He felt for us, The sign He left for us, He did all of this for you and me, Knowing this, Knowing all He did for us, deliberately, God chose the path: he selected the nails.
He did it all for you and me.
Let us reflect on this great love that Jesus took on all our sins so we can have assurance of eternal life with Him.
We owe Him everything.
We are never the same when we realize what He did on the cross.
Let's live for Him and stay eternal minded despite the challenges life brings. There is nothing we go through that He has not experienced. He did this all for you and me.
Now my friends, let's live for Him.
AMEN!
