Dear Precious Friends,
On this beautiful new day, this gift from God, I pray you are waking up knowing how loved you are and no matter what you are facing, God is with you, He loves you and has us here for a purpose.
How are we supposed to bear the weight of so much hurt? Why does it feel like the world is on fire? And is there anything I can do about it? Some days, the weight of everything going on around us can feel overwhelming. When it feels like there’s nothing else you can do to help solve the world's problems, there’s one thing that always makes a difference: prayer. The Bible says when we pray, God hears us (1 John 5:14) and it changes things. (Mark 11:22) Prayer doesn’t have to be a last resort; it can be our first step of action in whatever we are facing.
This will help you pray through Scripture when finding the right words feels impossible. :
“O God, listen to my cry! Hear my prayer! From the ends of the earth, I cry to you for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety …” (Psalm 61:1-2, NLT) God, Your Word says when my heart is overwhelmed, You will lead me to Yourself, the Rock that is higher than me. You hear every time I cry out in the situation I am facing, and You know every detail I cannot see. When I don’t know where else to go, I can go to You. I surrender every feeling that wants to overtake me today, and I choose to put my trust in You as my Rock. In Jesus’ name, amen. “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7, NIV) God, I come to You in the middle of my anxiousness today and ask for Your comfort. You alone bring peace in the middle of situations that feel anything but peaceful. I ask You to replace my anxious thoughts with Your peace. Help me to rest in knowing that You care about me and what I am going through. In Jesus’ name, amen. “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD himself, is the Rock eternal.” (Isaiah 26: 3-4, NIV) God, I thank You for the gift of Your perfect peace. I choose today to put my trust in You alone. You alone bring peace. You alone give me a steady and sound mind. You alone are the secure Rock I can stand on. Help me to trust You today, even when the world around me feels shaky, scary and unsteady.
