Dear Precious Friends,
On this TGIFF I pray you are waking up grateful and filled with the hope we have in Him no matter what you are facing or walking through. God is faithful, His promises are true and He has given us a new day, an amazing gift not to be taken lightly. We are to live today as if it were our last and keep our eyes focused on things of eternal significance,
This reminder that we are no longer slaves to fear, we are children of God is so appropriate for the times we are in. It is so easy to let satan take us down that slippery slope until we rememver who we are and whoe we are. The Bible never says who we aren't... Scripture always reminds us who we are:
The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father. Romans 8:15
Fear is a cruel master. Like a bad dream, fear imagines scary situations that never take place. Our battlefield is our mind. The fears in our mind seem so real that we stress over—even obsess over them. Fear causes us to lose confidence and sleep. Fear is not from God. Fear not is written in the Bible 365 times, one for each day! So what are we to do when that ugly spirit tries to make its way into our lives, "I have not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love ad a sound mind". 1 Tim 1:7
When fear tries to come in, we must reflect and remember how God is writing our story. In His script, His perfect love casts out fear. We are not slaves to fear—but to my Savior Jesus. The love of God is much larger than life’s momentary anxieties. His love converts fear into faith!
The Holy Spirit reminds us of our position: we are children of God. The Lord adopted us as His daughters and sons. The Spirit gives us life to live for Christ. In His power we are able to produce positive and lasting results. The Spirit allows us to put to death the deeds of the flesh (Romans 6:12-17) that facilitate fear. As we yield to the Spirit, He uses us for His purposes. Similar to a gifted teacher, the Holy Spirit instructs us in truth to combat the lies we lived before Christ. He leads us as adopted children. Fear has no place for a child cared for by King Jesus!
“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God” (Romans 8:14).
Whatever we fear, ask the Holy Spirit to lovingly convert your fears into faith. Trust—when we have done the right thing, it will be what’s right for everyone involved. We are not to dread someone or something we have no control over—instead we trust the Spirit to accomplish the appropriate outcome. Fear holds onto control. Faith hands over all control to Christ’s sovereignty.
We are children of God and no longer a slave to fear. We have been released from the chains of trepidation and freed to trust Jesus. THe ball and chain of dread has been removed by the grace of God. Once we cowered in a corner of shame, but now we have come clean and placed our confidence in Christ. Our heavenly Father’s perfect love has replaced our fears. Fear acts like a malaria carrying mosquito, only to discover the blood of Christ in your spiritual veins. Fear wants you back in bondage, but God’s love sets you free. Believe me when I tell you that fear tries to grip me with Rick's cancer. I stand firm in God's word and Cry Abba, Father and fear not!
“The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children” (Romans 8:16).
I love this song and when I start do feel myself being drawn into the fear that can overtake us, I immediately sing this song and sing out loud and firm and remind that wicked spirit of fear, it no longer has any place in my life.... I am a child of God.
Please listen to this song every time fear tries to knock at your door and stand firm In God's truth!
This song is so powerful... take a moment... listen...
Sending love to all of you!
