Dear Precious Friends,
I know if you are in this group, your thirst for the Lord is immense and you long for time with Him... I love this image and I love the song that sings these words... When we begin our day, the day He has given us... a gift like no other... we start with Him.... we give Him our heart, we ask Him to speak truth... He does this through His word... His absolute truth.
Take a moment and listen to this song. You will be greatly blessed.
"When we start our prayer time with the Lord... we don't have to come to God like someone else, we come as we are.. a lot of times this means we start our prayer time with God show me my heart, show me where I am, show me truth about myself so I know how to follow you... " (Casting Crowns)
This is at the beginning of this song... I love starting my quiet time with praise and worship... and singing the words... I love this song... we need His truth more than ever...
I pray this inspires you in your quiet time before you open His truth... His word...
I pray you have a spirit filled amazing day knowing HIs truth.. Knowing HIm.
Here are scriptures to pray over yourself.. just put your name in:
This is from Embracing God's Truth:
The recent events unfolding in the world have made it clearer than ever: the world needs our words of hope and truth. There are times to be silent and listen and learn, and there are times to speak the truth with wisdom and love.
It’s a hard balance of speaking with both truth and grace. We tend toward one extreme or the other. We want to want to share God’s truths with others and can do so without speaking love, which only pushes people away from us and from God. Or, we want to be perceived as nice and so we offer words of grace and encouragement, and avoid speaking words of truth that might cause division. I write more about this delicate balance in this post: Seasoning Your Life with Grace and Truth.
Scripture offers us hundreds of verses and passages that show the power of our words. I’ve collected a few of my favorites below that you can pray. Use this list as a springboard to pray for wisdom and courage to speak God’s truth to others - in your home, with your friends, with people you meet as you go about your day, on social media, in a book or blog post, on a stage, or even with the words you tell yourself.
You may want to focus on one Scripture a day, or journal your thoughts on a few verses that really stand out to you. Make them your own, and personalize them toward your own situations.
15 Scriptures to Pray to Help You Speak The Truth with Love
Thank God that He gave us our mouths, and no matter what insecurities we have about speaking to others, He will equip us. "Moses said to the Lord, "O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.
The Lord said to him, “Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not, I the LORD? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” Exodus 4:10-12
Thank God that He has and will equip you with all you need to share His Words. “For in Him you have been enriched in every way–in all your speech and in all your knowledge.” 1 Corinthians 1:5
Pray that you would be able to speak to others with both grace and truth as Jesus did. “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14
Pray that you would be able to speak out about God’s love and the work He has done in your life. “Has the LORD redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.” Psalm 107:2
Pray that you would speak to others exactly the way God has created you to. “For Christ did not send me out to baptize, but to preach the gospel–not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.” 1 Corinthians 1:17
Pray that you would have opportunities to boldly share your stories of how God has worked in your life “They triumphed over him (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” Revelation 12:11a
Pray that your motive in speaking would be for God’s approval, not for the approval and praise and social media likes of others. “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.” Galatians 1:10
Pray that God would give you the words to speak and the courage to say what He wants you to say. “Pray also for me that whenever I speak, words would be given me so that I would fearlessly make known the mystery of the Gospel.” Ephesians 6:19
Pray that you would be able to share God’s truth with others, with love and grace. “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” Colossians 4:6
Pray that the words you speak would be exactly the words others need to hear. “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.” Proverbs 25:11
Pray that the words you speak would be beneficial to others. “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who are listening.” Ephesians 4:29
Pray that you won’t speak out of anger or hurt. “Get rid of all bitterness, passion, and anger. No more shouting or insults, no more hateful feelings of any sort.” Ephesians 4:31
Pray that when someone speaks harshly to you, you will respond with grace. “A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” Proverbs 15:1
Pray that you would have wisdom about when to stay silent in conversations and when to speak up. “But keep away from foolish and ignorant arguments; you know that they end up in quarrels. As the Lord’s servant, you must not quarrel. You must be kind toward all, a good and patient teacher, who is gentle as you correct your opponents, for it may be that God will give them the opportunity to repent and come to know the truth.” 2 Timothy 2:23-25
Pray that you would say the words that are healing to others. “Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” Proverbs 16:24
Pray that you use words that are clean and healing and fruitful to others. “With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water." James 3:9-12
Yep, I included a bonus Scripture for you.
