Dear Precious Friends,
It's TGIFF!!! Thank God I'm Forgiven Friday, Memorial Day Weekend and signs of new hope for our circumstance we've been in. There are so many opinions, views, we've all been in some type of isolation and so many have fallen into some type of discouragement. I love this reminder from God's word and am very inspired by this. A dear friend gave me a sign recently that has this verse on it and It really hit my heart to study this verse and continue to praise God and Soul search my thoughts.
“Then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, “Do not imagine that you in the king’s palace can escape any more than all the Jews. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place and you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?” – Esther 4:13-14
Many people quote Mordecai’s rebuke to Esther as a life-verse which is to represent prestige, power and favor. There are shirts, hats, mugs and social media posts that proudly ring out, “for such a time as this.”
After doing more study on this verse... it seems few people truly connect the context of the verse with how they are using it. Esther was being scolded for her self-indulgent, self-preserving mindset. Esther was being reproofed for living large and embracing royalty over service. Through those telling words, Mordecai was reminding Esther that she had been chosen to set her own interests aside, let go of her own ambitions and face an enemy full-on.
She was to risk her life and her legacy with no guarantees of a positive outcome. That’s the “for such a time as this” Esther was challenged to accept. And that’s the “for such a time as this” God also sets before you.
He placed us where we are to serve HIm, to encourage others, to share His love through every means possible!!! Let's me mindful of the Holy Spirit inside of us that leads us! He always directs us, corrects and provides for us.
It is God who has given us everything.... our job, position, resources, education and more. It is God who has opened the opportunities for us to optimize for His kingdom purposes. He’s placed us where we are because we are in the midst of a battle; a war. We are in the midst of an intense conflict involving Good versus Evil.
To miss our kingdom assignment because we have become too caught up in our personal kingdom itself is the greatest tragedy we could ever face.
An entire nation was grateful for how Esther responded to Mordecai’s rebuke. Their lives were spared. How many can be spared in the culture where we live today when we choose to step up to service, even if it involves sacrifice?
I pray we can all see we have an assignment in the circumstance we are in and spend time with the Lord to see what that assignment is for Such a time as this...
Our faith moves mountains... our trust in the Lord is the encouragement someone else needs at this time.
When they see us do they see Him?
Let's all re-evaluate our circumstance we are in and move forward "For such a time as this" to the call we've been given. LETS DO THIS!!!!
Love this song of reflection today:
