Dear Precious Friends,
On this beautiful Valentines Day I pray you are embracing the gift it is with hope, joy and most of all LOVE. "For God so Loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16
Isaiah 49:16 reminds us that God loves us so much that He engraved our name on the palm of His hand. Matthew 10:30 says He loves you so much He knows how many hairs are on your head. Psalm 56:8 says He loves us so much that He saves our tears in a bottle. Jeremiah 31:3 says He loves us with an everlasting love.
Jesus entire life was about love and a love so great He would demonstrate it by dying on the cross for us and taking our sin upon Himself so that we can have eternal life with Him… He chose to die for us and not just any death but a death so brutal and horrific, we can’t comprehend the love He has for us to endure this unbelievable sacrifice.
There is no greater love than someone who is willing to die for you and I. He demonstrated this on the cross which is God's statement of just how much He loves us. When we think of the immensity of God's love, the first thing the Bible often asks us to do, is to consider the price that was paid.
Jesus told us to Love one another as I have loved you…
Here is a definition of what love is:
Our pastor asked us to read and pray 1 Cor 13:4-7 every day this week… 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”
May we join in this challenge and I pray we can reflect this type of love each day. May we remember the love Jesus has for us, and what Jesus did for us on the cross and the price He paid for our sins and go out and share this love with all we come in contact with.
I pray we can all reach out to someone today who has lost a loved one and show God's love to them.
AMEN.
