On this beautiful new Spring Day, this gift from God, I pray you are feeling refreshed by the hope we have in Him.
I love sharing God's truth and this image and reminder we are to be in the world but not of the world.... and if we don't feel like we fit in we are probably doing the right thing!
It is a tough assignment to keep our eyes fixed on Him and His ways in this crazy world where there is so much evil and difficulty!
So how can we be in the world but not of the world? There's only one way... to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, know Him, know His word and why we are here.
How?
By knowing His word. Spending time with Him. To know Him is to know His word. This is how we know absolute truth. Every answer to every challenge is in His book. Whenever we want to know what God thinks, we just open His book, His absolute truth, His love letter to us... the B.I.B.L.E. (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth)
God’s will is, his good, pleasing, and perfect will.” Romans 12:2
If you ever feel like you spend all of your energy fighting or like the enemy is working overtime to make you doubt, or give up...Well, I’m sure he is, but fortunately for us, God has given us direction on how to handle this battle and WIN.
Our minds can become so cluttered with negative thoughts. Worry, anxiety, fear… These thoughts can also lead to feelings of rejection, unworthiness, hopelessness and the list goes on. This is because when the thoughts are allowed to come into the mind, they quickly travel to the heart. These thoughts and feelings are certainly not of God, so why do we choose to entertain them?
Most times, we don’t even realize what’s happening. That’s how crafty the enemy can be. Remember that Peter warns, “be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8
When the enemy tries to enter, we must meet him at the door…do not let him take another step. We must focus our eyes on Jesus and keep our minds filled to the brim with God’s word, so there is no room for Satan’s lies.
DID YOU READ THIS????? WHEN THE ENEMY TRIES TO ENTER, MEET HIM AT THE DOOR, STOP EVERYTHING AND TELL HIM WHERE TO GO, JUST SAY JESUS AND CLAIM A SCRIPTURE OVER HIS LIES!
“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5
HOW DO WE TAKE THOUGHTS CAPTIVE? HOW DO WE FIGHT? ISN'T THIS THE QUESTION WE ALL ASK AND FORGET THE ANSWER TO?
We arm ourselves. Arm ourselves with scripture. Each morning during our prayer time, choose a scripture and memorize it…meditate on it throughout your day. Each time the devil comes at us with a negative thought, recite the chosen scripture in our mind. That’s how we take thoughts captive; we fill our thoughts with the word of God and let it renew our mind, calm our spirit, and bring our joy and contentment to light.
Abba Father, , help us to take captive all thoughts that are not from you, Lord, and help us to hunger for your knowledge and wisdom…to fill our minds with your Word and your love. Our hearts belong only to you Lord. Thank you for your direction and guidance to enable us to live a better life through Jesus Christ. In Jesus name.
