Dear Precious Friends,
On this beautiful new day, this gift from God, I pray we are waking up to a new day seeking Him first, knowing the Lord is with us, He loves us and when we as His children call to Him, He answers us.
Psalm 61:2-From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
Has life's circumstances left you feeling overwhelmed, discouraged or defeated? Cry unto God for He promises to hear and answer your prayers.
David wrote this Psalm when he was on the run from his own son, Absalom who rebelled against David in his attempt to overthrown his kingship.
David felt helpless and unable to do anything about the situation while he was on the run. His heart was overwhelmed and he did not feel brave enough to fight with his own son, so he asked God for help, knowing that God was his “Rock” . Psalm 51:17
A broken spirit is my sacrifice, God. You won't despise a heart, God, that is broken and crushed.
Whatever it is that we may be walking through today precious friends, we must remember that "PRAYER" is always available in every place, every circumstance and every condition of our heart. The Psalmist says "from the end of the earth will I cry unto you".
1 John 5:14
This is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
God is saying to us today that we no longer have to carry our load for He is willing to carry it for us. We must seek Him in prayer.
No matter where we are, no matter how far we are from home, we can cry to the Lord for help and He'll hear our cry. Wherever we are, we have access to the throne of grace where we will find help in the time of need. That's a promise, one that will lead us to the Rock every time there's a need. One commentator said, "That which separates us from our other comforts should drive us so much the nearer to God, the fountain of all comfort."
No matter how overwhelmed our heart may feel at times, it must be lifted up to God in prayer. There is no other solution for life's problems, and He's always there with arms opened wide; many times He's waiting for us just to ask for His help.
The next time we are at the end of our rope, or our circumstances seem to be swallowing us up, or problems are overwhelming us, we must be sure to run to Him in prayer. No amount of wishing and hoping and positive thinking will rescue us like the arm of the Most High reaching down and guiding us to the path of deliverance from our situation.
Remember, if He leads us to the Rock (and He will), we will be on top of our problems and see our circumstances from a far different perspective. This Rock is Christ, and we are safe if we are in Him.
"From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I." (Psalm 61:2)
Father, thank You for reminding me that You are always near, that I can, at any moment, reach out to You and You will concern Yourself about my business. Father, I must confess that many times I am overwhelmed, but I thank You and praise You for the assurance that there is a Rock that is higher than I. It is Your desire to meet my every need regardless of where I am, what the situation is, and how difficult the circumstances are. Lord, thank You for all You've done, amen!
"The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower." (Psalm 18:2)
