Dear Precious Friends,
On this beautiful new day, this gift from God, we are reminded that as God's children He has given each of us a purpose, a calling and with that comes assignments. We must remember Life on earth is a temporary assignment! We are all doing an internship for heaven.
“Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered, and that my life is fleeing away.” Psalm 39:4 (NLT)
To make the best use of our lives, we must never forget two truths:
First, compared with eternity, life is extremely brief.
Second, earth is only a temporary residence. We won’t be here long, so don’t get too attached.
In order to keep us from becoming too attached to earth, God allows us to feel a significant amount of discontent and dissatisfaction in life—longings that will never be fulfilled on this side of eternity. We’re not completely happy here because we’re not supposed to be! Earth is not our final home; we were created for something much better.
In God’s eyes, the greatest heroes of faith are not those who achieve prosperity, success, and power in this life, but those who treat this life as a temporary assignment and serve faithfully, expecting their promised reward in eternity.
When life gets tough, when we become overwhelmed with doubt, or when we may wonder if living for Christ is worth the effort, remember that we are not home yet. At death we won’t leave home—we will go home.
REMEMBER....
This world is not our home.
“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18 (NIV)
Life on earth is a temporary assignment! He has called each of us for such a time as this. With our calling comes challenges. In these challenges we have to focus on what we don't see and stay centered on the briefness our our lives and the purpose God has us here for.
Only one life will soon be past, only whats done for Christ will last. Despite the difficulties that come with our calling in life, we remember He is faithful, His word is true and there is nothing we walk through alone. He never leaves us or forsakes us.
AMEN!!
