Dear Precious Friends,
On this wonderful Wednesday, this gift from God, & as we are thanking God for this day knowing He still has work for us to do or we wouldn't be here, we are reminded in Galatians 6:2 to "Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
We all have times when the burdens of this life can become overwhelming. When this happens, whatever the reasons, we may wake up feeling like the weight of the world is on our shoulders. The joy, the peace, the hope of this life can seem far away. This also happens to those we love. God is telling us to go help those carry their burden. The Bible teaches us that when we are about our Father's business, He will be about ours. Reaching out with the love of Christ to someone who is hurting is the ultimate ministry anyone can perform in this life. When we read the accounts of the earthly ministry of Jesus in the Gospels, we see much of His ministry was one on one with hurting people. That is the example He has left us.
Let us seek to reflect the deep love Jesus has for us and bear one another's burdens in humility and gentleness. Let us die to self and live our life to the glory of God so that we may mature in the faith, grow in grace, live a spiritual, God-honoring life, and become a living testimony to the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I am challenging us today to find that someone in our lives who is hurting, falling under the weight of their problems, and pick them up. Pick them up and carry them for a while. It is what Jesus would do, it is what God is asking us to do today. Serving others is something we don't need a seminary degree for, we don't need any special training for. Serving others is what God expects from all His children and He has given us a new heart of love to make it possible to share that love with others. Without the Lord, we have a difficult time loving ourselves, let alone others. But when we realize how much God loves us, and sacrificed for us, it becomes easy for us to love others.
Amen!
